Need help with removing embedded text

I'm trying to remove some embedded text from my 3D model, but whenever I dissolve the vertices, it creates a large hole on the opposite side of the model. I also tried covering the text with a cube, but when I print the model, it alters the layer lines and affects the quality. I'm currently using SolidWorks 2025, Blender, and TinkerCAD. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If it's an imported model, I usually fill such texts using the extrusion feature. Then I export it as step or parasolid and import it again. Should fix the problem.

You’re trying to do something that was never intended to be done with a tessellated model like an STL. Furthermore, the original designer probably placed a watermark there for this very reason: to make it hard to remove. I’m making an assumption based upon it being text in a tessellated model. When I place text in an STL, it is specifically as a watermark that I don’t want removed. You may have a different circumstance so maybe a little more info would be helpful. It’s just that editing a tessellated (STL) model always seems a little suspect to me.

If you want the text removed it’s best to start back with the source CAD model. Go back to the original designer and see if they will remove the text.
