Phone Mount Design
Hello all,
I am new to making phone mounts but I am trying to design a mount that:
A. Will be placed on the top of a cylindrical pole
B. Have a protective box around the phone
C. Tilt 45 deg maximum upward and downward.
For the rotation or tilt, I was thinking of using a round C channel with a quick release ball pin but I couldn't visualize how it would work. My issues are deciding on the mechanisms that will be used for the tilt, the mechanism for covering for opening and closing it (I was thinking about snap fits), how the mount will support the box and whether to glue the mount to the pole or make an interference fit so it can stay on the pole.
Anyone who has designed phone mount or familiar with it? Just need direction in the right path/process and choosing the mechanisms.

I like things that index like this: https://grabcad.com/library/electrical-metallic-tubing-emt-conduit-connector-1
But there are off the shelf options you could use: https://www.mcmaster.com/#1258a1/=1eb6b7v
Browse through some images and see what meets the needs: https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1323&bih=941&ei=9mmBW8XbBsmWsAXGqbfoBA&q=adjustable+angle+amount&oq=adjustable+angle+amount&gs_l=img.3...1751.21504.0.21653.25.13.0.12.12.0.135.1028.9j2.11.0....0...1ac.1.64.img..2.18.1070.0..0j0i30k1j0i24k1.0.1Gsn3Ciou6s
There are tons of pivoting options available for cameras, bike computers, lights, and a multitude of other products. I'm sure there is plenty of room left to innovate and invent something new. Sometimes it is easier/better to just use an existing product.
