What kind of prototype are you trying to make? An RC car body? The image pictured is vacuum formed. If you had the body milled out you could use the same process.. sheet styrene is cheap and easy to vacuum form..
If you vacuum form make sure you don't have any undercuts on your model and all the side surfaces have a little bit of draft to them.
Find someone who can vacuum form it. That's how RC car bodies are made.

Hi guys thank you all for taking the time to put your thoughts here.... It is for my graded unit in College I am modelling an RC Car and have to do a physical prototype also. I did model the shell with clay and then I have tried to fibreglass over the clay but it all went wrong :( so now I need other ideas on how I can get the shell of the car...... I have though about getting it 3D printed but was looking for another way that might be cheaper....
