Roll Cage Sketching

Hello all,

I got a hand sketch of a roll cage ( check attachments) to make a roll cage, which is a simple enough task... if I fully understood how to combine each view to make the intended design. The below is what I currently have (attachments), which is NOT a good roll cage design, so I know the problem is either me or the drawing. What can any of you make from it?

Looks like fun, and a bit of a challenge. If this was my project I'd do two things before starting the 3d sketch work (which may or may not include actual '3d sketches' )

First, I'd make copies of the original document and cut them up such that I could lay them out and tape them to a sheet 'third angle projection' style so I could use a ruler to line up between the views to help determine what tubes were what. The views on the original document not being lined up this way makes my brain hurt and would be a problem for me. This might actually be enough to do the work and would tell me if the drawing was correct or if it had issues.

Second, and optionally if I felt it would expedite the work, I would construct a solid "envelope" that represented the volume enclosed by the cage, and use this envelope to help drive the 2d and/or 3d sketches that would be the centerlines of the tubes.
