Solidworks Future Version?

Hi,
Im running Solidworks 17-18 and recently got files from a client which I have to make some adjustments to. The files wont open due to them being 'Future Version'. How can this be possible when I am running the latest version?
Kind regards
Tom

The file may of upcoming version of SOLIDWORKS that means SOLIDWORKS 2019

hey thanks for the reply, I didnt think 2019 was released yet?

would a newer service pack update cause a future version error?

SW 2019 is not released, but someone could be using a beta release.
A service pack difference has never resulted in a future version error (that I know of).

You listed above that you are using SW 17-18. What is that? If it is 2017, then the future version is simply a 2018 model.
If you have the last service pack for 2017 you should be able to open the model, but it will be in a somewhat useless state if you need to do anything beyond view it.
