what is the use of extracting of surface in CATIA surface modeling?
In cross connector, we use extract surfaces. can anyone give a complete explanation.

Not sure what a "cross connector" is.
Often when working with solids and surfaces in CATIA, it's useful to copy a face of the solid into a surface. That's what Extract does. (you can also extract an edge of a solid to get a curve).
Some applications of extracted surfaces:
- extrapolate the surface to make it bigger
- split the surface to define a sub-domain on the face
- offset the surface
- use the surface for defining continuity with other surfaces
- etc.
