will a cantilever snap fit works with a 1.2mm metal sheet (Gauge 18 for US)?

Hello, I need to snap a 3D printed part (sls PA12) through a 1.5mm metal sheet and I'm wondering if a cantilever torsion snap will wor with such a small tickness.
May an annular snap fit will be better?

The snap will be permanent, there is no need to dismontle it once snap, but as 1.2mm is very small, I wonder if the snap will work fine.

Thanks

If it is only to cover a hole, in this case round, a simple four-section-negative-tapered-wall should do the job.

Thanks, yes it will cover a 8mm hole but with a recess cavity.
This it what I design with a little extra material supposed to be fit by force, but I wonder it it will work as I have no experience with such type of fitting/3d material.

My opinion, your concept will not work because there is no "flex" when pushing the plug, thus cutting the tabs. The solution would be to put a clearance cut around the tab, because is too small, that may also not work.
The solution is to add a grove and secure it with a retaining ring,
