Assembly Boolean in CATIA

When one thinks how to match thread profile of bolt to the hole to avoid minor clash, then here is the tutorial. This method can be used for other application where you don't need much work.

  1. Step 1: Problem

So, when you think how to assemble threaded nut to the hole, you have to draw a thread profile, then match with thread position. Here is a quick tip for overcoming that. Using boolean in assembly of CATIA. One thinks it is impossible but it is possible but it is off the light to users.

  2. Step 2: Steps

    1. Create your assembly, like shown:

    2. Then use coincidence and surface contact (if needed) to mate with base part:

    3. Then go to insert>> assembly features>> remove. Now select the bolt as it is a tool to remove from base part. Later, pull down base part using down arrow, click ok.

    4. Time for a check, open base part in new window, then use dynamic sectioning to verify your success with boolean on CATIA Assembly.

Interesting method. Could you do this if your assembly included a 3rd part, and the bolt was used to fasten the 3rd part to the base? Will it put holes in both parts?
