Import Points, Curves, Lofts from Microsoft Excel.

In this tutorial you will see how to import the points curves using macros in excel. The most easy and efficient method.

Step 1: Starter
In CATIA open part design.
(Note: the above step is important.)

Step 2: Copying Macro file
By default the file is located in this destination:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Dassault Systemes\B21\intel_a\code\command\GSD_PointSplineLoftFromExcel.xls
Copy this file and place it anywhere. For instance place it in desktop.

Step 3: Modifying Macro file
Now open the above mentioned file. You will get the output file as shown below.
You change the above values as needed

Step 4: Change the values.
Start loft and end determines the beginning and end of macro program respectively.
If you want two separate curves then enter the co-ordinates of first curves in between the StartCurve and EndCurve and same for other or you can do for one curve alone.
Similarly, you can do as much as you want.

Step 5: Importing the points
Now press Alt+F8 (an shortcut for getting inside macro).
Note: If your macro is disabled then goto office button >> excel option >> trust center >> trust center settings >> macro settings >> Enable all macros.
Select Feuil1.Main and from drop down menu select the file name of excel sheet (here it is GSD_PointSplineLoftFromExcel.xls
Click on Run.
Select the options accordingly.
Note: For loft option there must be more than a curve.
Hit OK after specifying User info.

Step 6: Previewing the points
Once the macro starts recording the points will be imported to CATIA Part design.
