JOIN and EXPLODE commands in AutoCAD
How to use JOIN and EXPLODE commands in AutoCAD?
-
Step 1:
In AutoCAD you can join lines to object or you can explode an object to lines.
So I am gonna show you these two commands to do that. What I have got on the picture is an object I drove with basic lines so none of them are joined with each other.
It does not mean there are gaps between them, you see when you click on the line of closed contour of your object only that line will highlight, but when it is joined with JOIN command whatever line you click in your drawing the whole object will highlight.
-
Step 2:
Now we are gonna join those lines into one object.Type JOIN.
Then select the whole object (you can select just the lines which you want to join).
-
Step 3:
If there are some lines which are still not joined then repeat the process again and it should be fine then.
-
Step 4:
Now lets say we want to explode this object into multiple segments (lines),then we use EXPLODE command.Type explode.
And your drawing is separated to lines. You can use Group feature for these type of things too.You can find it at Home tab.
