SS304 Tanks

tank modeling
-
Step 1:
1️⃣ Create the Tank Body (Cylindrical Shell)
- Open SolidWorks → Start a new part.
- Create a Sketch on the Front Plane and draw a circle for the tank diameter.
- Use Extruded Boss/Base to set the height of the tank.
- Apply Shell Feature to give the tank a uniform wall thickness (e.g., 3mm to 5mm).
2️⃣ Add Tank Nozzles & Openings
- Sketch smaller circles on the top & sides for inlet/outlet pipes.
- Use Extruded Cut to create holes.
- Add cylindrical bosses using Extruded Boss/Base for welding nozzles.
- Use Fillet for smooth transitions at connections.
3️⃣ Design the Tank Lid & Base
- Create a circular lid with Flanges using the Sheet Metal feature (if applicable).
- Add stiffeners & ribs for reinforcement using the Rib Tool.
- Model the tank bottom with a dished or conical shape using the Loft or Revolve feature.
4️⃣ Add Legs/Support Structure
- Sketch & extrude legs or a support ring.
- Use Weldment Tools if making a frame-based support.
- Ensure stability by testing the design with SolidWorks Simulation.
5️⃣ Apply Material & Render the Model
- Assign Stainless Steel (SS304/SS316) from the Material Library.
- Use Photoview 360 or Visualize to create a realistic render.
