Onshape Tutorial Exersice

Sometimes you will not have Solidworks or a similar program installed on your computer. And you may have to make a model immediately. In such situations, Onshape is great. The link to the modeling file from the sample technical drawing is given below. https://cad.onshape.com/documents/51b10db64d8c10d69e04f4da/w/b4cd4b090cea13100d679675/e/741f8ec43a660ff55252cd29

I made the model is SW2016, so uploading the result will not help you since your model was made in SW2014. I would use a sweep for this though. I'll attach some photos:

How to create a lofted solid from external parts?

0 0 Intermediate
OK, I think I'm on the path now. I was able to create the skin by making derived sketches in the new part ... one sketch per plane per rib. I wasn't able to derive a sketch into a plane within a 3D sketch, but a series of 2D sketches worked fine. I could then setup my guide paths and do the loft. I still need some practice to make it clean, as you can see in the attached image, but I think I know what needs to be done.

How to loft cut the area between two sketches to the area between another two sketches

I found the easiest way to do this was to use the revolve cut feature rather than the loft cut. Here is video to show you what I did and some screen shots.

How to model fan blades in Autodesk Inventor?

0 0 Intermediate
Hi Neznajut, In a few minutes I made the following. Using the command "Loft". 1e draw a route with several planes. (2 ore more) On each plane the particular shape in a sketch on the plane. Use command Loft to run in one shape from 1 sketch thru all to the last. after that use the command circular Pattern in a assembly to make and run these 3 blades around an axle. See further help at youtube "loft" and later "Pattern". Or tell me the next problem you struggle or deal with. Best Regards Tommy

Help with Chris Shakal's Turbofan Blade

0 0 Beginner
[SOLVED] Hi stephen, thanks so much for your help, I haven't yet downloaded your file i wanted to try it myself, I used your suggestion to use the feature 'boundary surface' in the surfaces tab, in the first dialog box I selected each spline section across the length of the blade, then in the second dialog box (i think its the box saying direction 2) i selected the two splines connecting all endpoints of the sections (there are two of these long splines on either side of the blade) and OK'ed everything and VIOLA! THANKS TO YOU STEPHEN!!! :-)
