We had so many seriously awesome designs that it was very hard to narrow it down to just three. The talent around here is stunning.
We went into this with no real preconceived ideas of exactly what we were looking for other than something that: looked good, served its purpose, was easy and fast to manufacture, and would work as well for smaller reservoirs as it does for larger ones. As a group, we tend to value creativity over most other things - and we definitely saw a TON of that during this challenge. As frequent users of GrabCAD, we know that the GrabCAD community has always been a hotbed for amazingly skilled individuals... nevertheless, we were still blown away when we saw what some people were able to pull off starting with a simple metal tube.
This design was a definite favorite of the entire team since the first day it was submitted. It is gorgeous and truly very intriguing to look at and does a fantastic job of breaking up the monotony of the clear plastic tube under it. Furthermore, it scales perfectly between larger and smaller sizes and will be easy to manufacture. It has that "living" sense to it that is most often reserved for alien spaceships and comic book villains - and it is an incredible design in our opinion.
This design was in every single one of our top 5's lists. Typically for that to happen, the stars and planets must align and a leprechaun has to stand in the same spot and get struck by lightning... twice. Marios did it without harming any leprechaun’s and we salute him for that. The overlapping effect that was demonstrated here was a huge hit amongst the team. It provides a killer overall visual look and forces the viewer’s eyes to the logo in the center. Well thought out and brilliantly designed.
Thanks again to ALL of the participants and the entire GrabCAD Community! This challenge has been wonderful and has definitely furthered our opinions that this little section of the internet is by far one of the best. Congratulations to our winners also! It has truly been an honor and a pleasure for us to experience this!
