Workshop Experience with CA6136 Horizontal Lathe and 3D Printing:
During my engineering training, I gained hands-on experience using the CA6136 horizontal lathe, one of the most versatile machines in the workshop. My tasks included:
Turning external and step surfaces to create precise cylindrical and stepped components.
Groove cutting to produce accurate grooves for functional and aesthetic purposes.
Drilling holes on the lathe to ensure proper alignment and functionality of parts.
In addition to traditional machining, I also:
4. Learned Pliers Software for designing and simulating parts before manufacturing.
5. Gained experience in 3D printing to prototype and produce complex components efficiently.
Building a Car:
As part of a team project, I contributed to designing and building a car from scratch. We manufactured all the parts, utilizing processes such as milling, drilling, and turning on the CA6136 horizontal lathe. Additionally, we used 3D printing for prototyping and producing complex components. This hands-on experience allowed me to develop a deep understanding of design, manufacturing, and assembly processes in automotive engineering.
Additional Steps for a Comprehensive Workflow:
6. Material Selection: Choosing the right materials for machining and 3D printing based on strength, durability, and application.
7. Tool Setup and Calibration: Ensuring the lathe and 3D printer are properly calibrated for precision.
8. Quality Inspection: Using measuring tools like calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
9. Post-Processing: Finishing parts through sanding, polishing, or coating to meet design requirements.
10. Assembly and Testing: Integrating machined and 3D-printed parts into the final product and testing for functionality.
This experience enhanced my skills in traditional machining, modern manufacturing techniques, and design-to-production workflows.
