Apperance override in Inventor !?

Is it possible to override the appearance between the frame generator member parts, and the assembly model !?
I will keep the look of the assembly model as colored, while the frame generator members as pure steel look-apperance
Every time I change the apperance of the FG member, automatically the assembly model changes
This is because I want to use FG compilation as a starting point for Idw. drawing, and I want to keep the natural look of steel
