Does any body know
1. How to find the cracking pressure of the valve.
2. How to find head loss curve of the valve.
3. Minimum Pressure required to open the Valves.
4. Minimum Velocity required for valve performance
5. Kv value
1 Answer
1) p=F/A. The Area is where the seal is applied. The force is the force due to the spring at its given compression.
2) More complicated (this is where CFD comes in). There are some empirical results (see Google), but generally you'll need to evaluate this numerically to be accurate as it depends on the flow rate. You could also use an OOM (1D) like SimScape or OpenModelica with their built in libraries.
3) See cracking pressure.
4) I don't know that this means.
5) You'll need pressure/flow rate information for this, the value is evaluated (I think) at 1bar dP. Use Google to find the equation if it's not in your textbook...
