Converting to STEP

I received a SolidWorks part that was done in a future version. I have 2018 version. Is there anyway to save the part as a STEP so I can open it in 2018? I'm not sure what version they have. This is a classwork and I'm to order from a company to email me their parts to assemble together with some parts that I created.

The only other way that I can think of that might work is Pack and Go but I don't have that option with student version.

Attached are the files as steps. I think I got them all, I know I got both assemblies.
In the future, it would help to zip the files so it's one clean download/opening process.

you can use cad exchanger to alter the extension of files.
