what's difference between right hand & left hand spring?
In other words, what is the use of each?

The coil being a clockwise or counter clockwise sprial.

Right hand spring coils twist in the same direction as a typical right hand screw. A left hand is just the opposite of course.

For most spring applications there’s no need to pick one over the other. However when compressing a helical spring, a twisting torque is imparted to the ends of the spring. A right hand spring torques in one direction and a left hand torques the opposite. In situations where these torques can cause unwanted movement, then matching pairs of left and and right hand springs are often employed. A typical example is vehicle suspension.
