Engine visuals

Question by Alain Di Zeo

Hello all,
I would like to ask if anyone has or knows of any tips and ways that I can enhance the visuals of the external components (valve covers, etc) of the engine model I am working on. The engine is a small block ford which I am modeling in Solidworks for senior design. The engine contains all engine parts except a carburetor. I found out recently that the video card that my laptop has is NOT compatible with Solidworks, therefore I am not able to use RealView, a feature that enhances the visuals of designs. What options/materials/colors, etc. could I manipulate in order to have a more realistic looking engine? Thanks for the help.

You can download a program called Real Hack and as long as you have a nVidia or ATI video card it will enable the RealView on it! That's what I did for my system as well!
