What is it with the file extensions missing when I try to download files, this is a condition I have noticed recently with solidworks and stp/iges files?
Care to put the links to these extension-less files?
it has been like this since they changed thier homepage. are you using firefox or chrome?
try it with another browser and see.
or just add the extension manually after downloading the file. in this case just rename the file from Caisse to Caisse.zip
Thank you Ali, this is beginning to make some sense, I haven't tried another browser - I am using Firefox but will try IE. And, I'll try the second option - will try that as as well.
Thanks Ali. A late response but as you've stated, this problem is associated with Firefox and is not a problem with IE. If anyone knows of Firefox extension or add-ons to apply, please advise.
I can't seem to understand the problem, the files are compressed archive; you will need a software like WinRAR to extract the actual files from them.
I'm using winrar, Winrar will not recognize the file, Wolf
Here's another one, there are several that behave like this
When I click to download the step/iges file, there is no extension to the file, some kind of ...octet file is id'd. File format is not recognized, using windows 7 right now, I have only noticed this condition lately with this OS. Hope this helps.
Yes Michael, IGES and STEP by default won't be recognized by SolidWorks, you'll need either to open them from inside SW or assign them to open automatically from your OS options.
