how to automatically update details in bom in which,additional columns provided by us such as hardness,
stock size etc

No prob.
First, in each part you need to define a 'custom property' for each parameter you wish to display (hardness, stock size, etc).
Then, as you add a new column to the bom table, SW prompts you to select what belongs in the cells of that column, in your case it would be the 'custom property' you want to see in that column.
If you want to change what is in the column you can click on the column header (the a,b,c,d,e,f....portion) and select the 4th button from the right in the popup menu to choose something different for that column
