i did a rendering using vray in 3ds max of pi raspberry electronic board downloaded from grabcad. i set its material to x-ray transparency and i got alot of triangular mesh flickering. what can i do to avoid that?
Could you upload a portion of the video so everyone can see the flickering?
My only guess is that the model may have overlapping surfaces, or surfaces which are exactly coincident with each other.
In such cases, the software does not know which material to show, and flickering can occur.
Only a guess though.
I would agree, most rendering softwares seem to produce flickering on transparent/translucent coincident surfaces. Don't know the proper way to fix it, but I usually just either delete one of the faces, or fractionally offset one of the objects.
