How to change description of profile names for Frame generator profiles
According to the description of the names of the profiles formed with Inventor FG
Is it possible and how to just change the description, not the file name !?
I will avoid changing the description via the parts list, if possible
because it seems to be an easier way to make the change directly on the assembly drawing via the BOM

If you want to have the profiles with the file name and description you want in the list, you must create a corporate or personal library and save a disconnected copy of the profiles you use. Then open them in the library manager editor: management tab, icon: manager. Go to the name of the library you created and right click first change the name to family property, from which it takes the start of the description. Then right click again and select the second entry: family table. At this point you can put the name you want in part number leaving the entries indicating width, height, length. BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO DELETE THESE ITEMS, ALWAYS PUT A HYPERLINK BETWEEN THE AUTOMATIC STRINGS AND THE ONE YOU WRITE. I even change the default material too, for example the hexagon socket head screw in Inventor is by default in AISI steel. I have put VITE TCEI matter the ACC.8.8. You can do them what you want. If you have never done it, save a copy of the libraries if you screw up. The directory is: C: \ ProgramData \ Autodesk \ Inventor (the version you have installed) \ Content Center \ Libraries.
