How to design components of a model using just images
I'm a beginner to CAD, and I need help to understand how does one figure out and calculate and design various components without a parts list, just from a simple image.

If I were a beginner at CAD but needed to reverse engineer something, I would definitely consult a subject matter expert for guidance. You question is very general, update us with more details of your work, examples of images, etc.
For one example take a yo yo. You might have a picture of one, but might not understand what the components are without talking first to a yo yo development engineer. Also the reverse engineer can buy a yo yo, take it apart and draw it.
That’s good for the how... what about the why? We reverse engineer to improve and modify something to make it better/faster/stronger, to demonstrate the inferiority of a competitor’s product, and to gain general insight into the product you are creating.
