How to Model a Coil With a Rectangular Cross Section in Solidworks??

By Dallas on 08 Oct 15:41 1 answer 0 comments

I am having some difficulty making a coil in solidworks that has a rectangular cross sectional area. I can achieve this in Inventor by simply drawing a rectangle then using the ocil command. I am aware of the inset, helix/coil command, but when I select it, it says that it can only use a circle as the cross section. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Try finding one in the library, dowload the file and see in the designtree how it's done. Learn from existing models is the best way to do it.
