How to reconstruct a 3D model of femur from ct scan file (DICOM)

for reconstruct a real 3D model using the DICOM file, witch software i can use, and how to converter this format at other format

1. convert Dicom to STL use (mimics - magics - 3D doctor - inVesalius)
2. convert STL to solid model use ( solidworks - 3dmax)

Dear Hiba - if you're still looking for a solution to this problem, you might want to consider our software - we can convert DICOM to STL for export, and have options for creating NURBS models.

We can also generate volume meshes from CT with contact surfaces, node sets, shell elements, CFD boundary conditions, and material properties. Files can be exported in solver-specific formats, e.g. to ANSYS, COMSOL, Abaqus. Dear Ahmed , answer is interesting, may i know how to convert STL into Solid model in Solid works or 3DMAX.

To convert dicom files to polygonal 3d model , this is easy using different softwares; one of them is open source like 3D slicer. However to convert this model to solid part you need reverse engineering programs like rapidform or geomagic.
