how to step down .ipt to lower version .ipt?
I convert my .ipt file to iges but it does not supports solid works (old version ),My assumption is Since .ipt is saved from higher version inventor

Try to save with extension .stp and import to SolidWorks.
Try the other extensions there
.ipt step down to lower version is not possible. you can export step or iges data.
for example: you cannot open Inventor 2019 file with Inventor 2015 and you cannot save in Inventor 2019 as 2015 version.
if you want to go backward, It is not possible in inventor.
you can do it by changing format,but then you cant edit it.
