I have this problem when I try to open a IPT Document, "....can't open files without inventor version from directory..."

If your drawing files are not corrupt, your program may not open the related drawing due to the version difference. I suggest you find out in which software version the current drawing was made. What is the software version you are using, is it the latest version or is it 2-3 years old? :-)

You can also use international Cad file formats such as step, iges, stl file format for data exchange, but you may not be able to change or edit the project itself..
