Is it necessary that i give thick surface option for a surface designed in catia before i do cfd analysis in ansys fluent?

I have designed an aircraft surface in catia v5.I have to do cfd analysis in ansys fluent.I am getting the mesh correctly but am not getting the right values for lift and drag.Should i give thick surface opton in catia?

No, for the simulation to be done on ansys fluent or cfx the model should be solid, better join the surface of plane and convert to solid, whereas for the wings you have to redesign as a solid.

Check initial and boundary conditions. Give small time step size (.001) in case of transient state. This gives better convergence.
