I am working on my Graded unit which is an RC Car I am required to do the layout drawings of all parts for this project. Would this also be the case for the shell of the RC Car?
If they were doing this in Industry would they use a CNC machine or some sort of rapid prototype to get the master copy of the shell from the CAD software then from there with the process of vacumm forming from the master prototype?
This most likely would be done using some sort of CNC machining process to create the vacuum molds.
A drawing showing the key dimensions, the mold base profile would most likely be produced. The tool manufacturer would need something to quote from quickly.
They would likely produce a full scale drawing to set the part on for verification. Again a few key dimensions, and thickness would be noted.
