Modelling a hull in Solid Edge

By Keith Nixon on 06 Jun 14:07 1 answer 201 views 0 comments

I am trying to model a hull. I am thinking of extruding a series of sketches along a path. Any other (better) ideas?

I'd download a few good looking models from the library on this site. The best ones for you will be designed in Solid Edge, and they will have all of their features for you to scroll through and see how the model was made.

The shape of the hull will play a role in how you go about developing it. The end use will also factor into it.
Are you modeling a hull that will be manufactured, or is it a model that should look good for a 3D print, or rendering?
Is it a rather traditional sailboat hull, cargo ship, military ship, racing boat, row boat?

Maybe posting an image that looks a bit like what you wish to model will spark some additional discussion?
