Rendering - getting started/ whats best?
I'm looking for free software for rendering 3D models. I'v heard of blender but not had chance to try it out. Can anyone make a suggestions and give me a helping hand.

What CAD software do you use? Many CAD packages have rendering capabilities built in. I just used KeyShot and it is amazing and easy to learn. You can use it for free to get to learn it but renders will have a watermark and you can't save your project. I use SolidWorks and has PhotoView 360.
I have just started using blender cycles ... the software is insane and there is so much material out there to help you learn... have a look at blenderguru.com also I have uploaded a couple of renders so feel free to check them out... but bare in mind I only started using blender last Friday :)
