This is one of the most underestimated commands in Solidworks. Especially if you use Solidworks Simulation. The split line is a great tool to help you easily apply boundary conditions. Nice post!
Sorry but the proposed method only creates two faces... not two surfaces as the "Solid Split" feature would create two separated bodies from a single one. The "Split Surface" functionality is still not offered by SolidWorks despite the fact that it is a feature requests for years !
