what is meant by rendering?
i am industrial engineering student ,do not know much about cad, although i am learning pro engineer but i am not very good at it , expecting some help of this forum , thanks

A rendering is a photo realistic view of your CAD model. Most programs have an modul to create a realistic screenshot. There also exit specialiced programs like keyshot which "only" create renderings of several CAD solutions like solidworks, CATIA, proE andd may more.

Following on Hailstone,- nowdays, rendering is much needed in industry, advertising, for educational purposes and etc. In the rendering includes a photo realistic view of model and realistic animation, which you can do with most of these programs.
