what is the difference between merging distance and distance objective in join and healing command catia

explain with examples

Hi Vinay

Distance objective is the threshold below which the gap is ignored by heal operation .
If default Distance objective value is 0.001mm, and gap between two patches is more then that, those surfaces will be processed (healed) or otherwise if gap is less than 0.001mm, they will be ignored.
Distance objective is the maximum gap allowed between two healed elements.

Merging Distance is the MAXIMUM gap between the surfaces that will be filled.
If default merging distance is 0.01mm, and there is gap of 0.02mm between two surfaces, then they can not be joined. But if gap is less than 0.01mm, they will be considered as one and can be joined.

Hope it works !!
