Will Move Component allow me to use arrow keys to move part (instead of dragging) ?
It is difficult (if not impossible) to drag a part designed for translation and free rotation with the mouse w/o rotating it. I've not found it possible to select desired component and move it with the arrow keys. Suggestions for moving an assembly component to achieve translation along the axis only?

If you select the 'Move component' command you can toggle between 'Free drag' and other options that will allow you to move parts around on axis or planes.

Hello Archie,
Yes, it gets trickier between drag and rotation of the part in Solidworks assembly. Use "Move Component" and "Rotate Component" to get free drag or free rotation only.
To say that this option won't let you use arrow keys to move part. Arrow keys are there to change the angle of view only in Solidworks.
