My education background is in manufacturing engineering technology, but the last 12 years my work experience has been in civil engineering technology. I have just entered into the world of educational instruction and am loving every minute of it. I get paid to play. I instruct students toward competency in four diploma disciplines: Civil CAD Technician, Mechanical CAD Technician, Architectural CAD Technician and Structural CAD Technician.

The "Technician" terminology suggests students will possess competency in 3 or more CAD software platforms dependent upon the career track chosen, Microsoft Word and Excel, presentation software (Adobe, Power Point, etc), drafting and industry standards, 3d printing, 3d scanning, and career readiness skills (ethics/professionalism). CAD softwares available to students are SolidWorks, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Autodesk Inventor Pro, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk 3DS Max Design, Autodesk Mudbox, Adobe Web and Creative Design Suite, and Carlson Civil Suite.
