    Modelling threads is important in applications where the thread is a component of the design (such as oilwell tools). Although this isnt important in all applications, it is important to recognize where/where not to model the threads. *There are also practical reasons for modelling threads in specific CAD/CAM interfaces depending on software and programming requirements.

    For practical reasons I strongly advise against modeling a thread in the shown manner. Use the thread feature instead.
