Convert Solid Part to Sheet metal Part in Solidworks

1. Step 1:

   First, open the part modelling in the Solidworks.

   Take the right plane and make a sketch as shown in the figure below.

   then Extrude Boss with dimension 150mm.

   
   

   

   

   
   

   
   

   
   

2. Step 2:

   Give the Chamfer feature to the edage as display on the figure.

   Chamfer value is 45 deg and 30 mm distance.

   

   

   
   

   
   

   
   

3. Step 3:

   Now, select bottom face as shown in the figure and make a rectangle and give the dimension as shown in the figure.

   After that apply Extrude boss feature with 2 mm.

   

   

   
   

   
   

   
   

4. Step 4:

   Apply fillet on the edage of the bottom plate.

   R1 = 10 mm and R2 = 30 mm as shown in the figure.

   

   Now the the Solid part is ready.

   

   
   

   
   

   
   

5. Step 5:

   We will make muliple sketches on the top plate of the part to convert it into sheet metal.

   We make five sketch one by one. See the figure below

   

   

   
   

   Now click on the convert to sheet metal feature in the sheet metal tab.

   

   
   

   On left the feature tree will open and then select the fdace as shown in the figure and there will be caution meassge menu will appear. Click it ok

   

   Give Thickness value 2mm and bend radius 1mm and the following edges as shown in the figure.

   

   

   
   

   
   

   

   
   

   

   
   

   Finally, the sheet metal part is made.
