Well here are steps for simple analysis. First of all i'm not any professional but maybe this will help you.

  1. Step 1:

This is the bracket i'm going to use.

  2. Step 2:

Open the part file and then go to Tools>>addins and check the SolidWorks Simulation there and click OK.

  3. Step 3:

Now under simulation tab click Study advisor and New study.

  4. Step 4:

Enter any name and keep the default type of study (i.e. Static). Click OK.

  5. Step 5:

    Now click Apply material.

  6. Step 6:

Select the material and click apply and close.

  7. Step 7:

Under Fixture advisor choose Fixed geometry.

  8. Step 8:

The fixture property manager will show. Here we have to define the faces which will remain fix during the loading condition.

  9. Step 9:

Select the holes and click OK. These holes will be fixed by bolts.

  10. Step 10:

Now select External Loads and then Force.

  11. Step 11:

Select the face under load and enter the value of load. Click OK.

  12. Step 12:

Now click Run under simulation tab. Some meshing screen and solver will process and after done the deformed part will show.

  13. Step 13:

This is the analysis output screen. You can change the different option under results for desired output.
