Tutorial - Modeling CFL in SolidWorks?

Here is the tutorial.

  1. Step 1:

    Right plane>>sketch.

  2. Step 2:

    Draw this profile.

  3. Step 3:

    Revolve Surface it.

  4. Step 4:

    Top face>>Sketch.

  5. Step 5:

    Draw a circle.

  6. Step 6:

    Circular pattern it 4 times.

  7. Step 7:

    Extrude it in both directions.

  8. Step 8:

    Reference Geometry >> Axis.

  9. Step 9:

Generate axis on all cylinderical tubes.

  10. Step 10:

    Reference Geometry>>plane.

  11. Step 11:

    Select both axis.

  12. Step 12:

    Plane1>>Sketch.

  13. Step 13:

Using spline tool make this sketch.

  14. Step 14:

Make a plane on the edge of the tube.

  15. Step 15:

    Plane2>>Sketch.

  16. Step 16:

    Convert the edge.

  17. Step 17:

    Exit the sketch.

  18. Step 18:

    Swept surface.

  19. Step 19:

Sweep the circle about the spline.

  20. Step 20:

Repeat the same step for other tubes also.

  21. Step 21:

    Trim Surface.

  22. Step 22:

Under mutual type select all surfaces.

  23. Step 23:

    Select inner surfaces to remove.

  24. Step 24:

Now we have trimmed the surface.

  25. Step 25:

    Filled surface.

  26. Step 26:

    Filled surface the bottom edge.

  27. Step 27:

    Knit Surface.

  28. Step 28:

Select all surface and uncheck the gap control.

  29. Step 29:

    Thicken it.

  30. Step 30:

    Bottom face>>Sketch.

  31. Step 31:

Draw a circle and extrude it.

  32. Step 32:

    Again bottom face >> sketch.

  33. Step 33:

    Draw a circle.

  34. Step 34:

    Extrude it.

  35. Step 35:

    Fillet the edges.

  36. Step 36:

    Right plane>>Sketch.

  37. Step 37:

Draw a circle in lower area.

  38. Step 38:

Extrude offset from surface with outer offset.

  39. Step 39:

We have the basic body of the CFL.
