Tutorial - Modeling Fork in SolidWorks?

Here is the tutorial.
-
Step 1:
Front plane >> Sketch.
-
Step 2:
Draw line and spline like this. The spline is tangent to both of lines.
-
Step 3:
Under sketch tab click Fit spline under spline.
-
Step 4:
Select all entites in order and then check delete geometry and uncheck closed geometry. Input tolerance = 5mm. Click OK.
-
Step 5:
Extrude the surface by mid plane.
-
Step 6:
Top plane >> Sketch.
-
Step 7:
Draw this profile using line and spline. The spline is again tangent to the lines. Draw a center line about the mid-point of the surface.
-
Step 8:
Select Fit spline tool under spline.
-
Step 9:
Same option for the fit spline. Check delete geometry and uncheck closed spline and tolerance = 5mm.
-
Step 10:
Mirror the spline about the center line.
-
Step 11:
Now draw lines like this. These line are equal to each other and parrallel to the corresponding lines too.
-
Step 12:
Mirror these lines. These will work fine for the fork for now.
-
Step 13:
Again Fit spline tool and select all entites with Delete geometry checked and closed spline unchecked with tolerance of 5~10mm.
-
Step 14:
We have a basic shape of fork.
-
Step 15:
Click Trim surface tool under surfaces tab.
-
Step 16:
Use the sketch as the timming tool and remove the outer surface.
-
Step 17:
Thicken the surface now.
-
Step 18:
Fillet the holding side.
-
Step 19:
Now we have the basic model of a fork.
