Tutorial - Simulation of ball basic motion in SolidWorks Part -1?


Here is the tutorial on first part box of the model. We will go step by step from modeling to motion.

  1. Step 1:

    Front plane >> Sketch.

  2. Step 2:

    Draw a center point rectangle at origin of 300mmx200mm.

  3. Step 3:

    Extrude it by 60mm.

  4. Step 4:

    Click Shell tool under features tab.

  5. Step 5:

    Remove the front face and offset distance be 5mm.

  6. Step 6:

    Inner face >> Sketch.

  7. Step 7:

    Draw a rectangle for cutway of the box.

  8. Step 8:

    Extrude cut it throught the body in front direction.

  9. Step 9:

    Now we have to create some features through which the balls have to pass Inner face >> Sketch.

  10. Step 10:

    Draw a line.

  11. Step 11:

    Exit the sketch. Now the front face of the wall >> Sketch.

  12. Step 12:

    Draw another line. Exit the sketch.

  13. Step 13:

    Under surfaces tab select lofted surface.

  14. Step 14:

    Select both sketches.

  15. Step 15:

    Thicken the surface with direction downwards so that it can merge with box.

  16. Step 16:

    Inner face >> Sketch.

  17. Step 17:

    Draw a spline.

  18. Step 18:

    Extrude surface it up to the wall surface.

  19. Step 19:

    Thicken it again so that it can merge with the box.

  20. Step 20:

    Inner face of the box >> Sketch. Now draw a box like this.

  21. Step 21:

    Extrude it up to the vertex and select the edge of the wall.

  22. Step 22:

    Inner face >> Sketch.

  23. Step 23:

    Draw a line.

  24. Step 24:

    Extrude it with thin feature of 5mm upto the vertex and select the edge of the wall.

  25. Step 25:

    The model is prepared. Now we have to apply the material.

  26. Step 26:

    Right click the material and select cast alloy steel and our box is prepared.
