  Connecting rod oil canal

  1. Step 1

     draw shown sketch under the body

     

  2. Step 2

     use cut revolve command

     

  3. Step 3

     open a sketch on same surface and draw a circle

     

  4. Step 4

     use cut extrude command

     

  5. Step 5

     open a sketch on the front plane

     

  6. Step 6

     draw an axis

     

  7. Step 7

     add shown lines

     

  8. Step 8

     use cut revolve command

     

  9. Step 9

     use mirror command

     

  10. Step 10

      now fillet the edges

      

  11. Step 11

      oil canalled connecting rod is ready to use

     When I was doing step 4 I cut trough the sides of the rod, so I had to change the cut extrude of the part (part 1 step 13 of your tutorial) Don't know if that's supposed to be the way :)

  Yep me too, I just rolled back to the cut-extrude in which we made that indent and changed the value from 4mm to 3.25mm; don't use a value of 3.5mm though because that will give you a 0 radius.

     Hello Cullen Williams,
     Its better to use smaller cut-extrude value like 2 or 2.5mm...

  Awesome tutorial mate :D

  But one small problem:
  After Step 4, I'm getting an open line through the length of the connecting rod like seen in the following picture.

  Is it possible that in the Step 13 in Part 1, the Cut-Extrude was less than 4mm?
  Or am I doing something wrong.

     the cut through should be 3mm.

     I've had the same issue. I just reduced the cut-extrude value in step 13 part 1 to a value that solve the issue (2.5 mm for example).

  Just reduce the cut-extrude value in step 13 of part 1 as Loïc Varnier told....I used the value 2 mm and it looked good
