How to make V12 engine
(please follow tutorials step by step)
we will model a piston. try to draw a sketch like in the picture. most importand dimension is piston radius.
use cut revolve command
open a sketch on front plane and draw a rectangle
use cut extrude command and cut the body
open a sketch on this surface
draw this sketch with using mirror command
extrude it 40mm. then open a sketch on this surface
use convert entities command and select this surface
draw the shown sketch
use trim command
extrude 10mm and mirror it
open a sketch on blue surface and draw a 11mm circle center of it
cut the body
now you should use fillet command.
use dome command
piston is ready for now. follow next tutorial
"Step 2" should be "Revolved Boss/Base" not Revolved Cut. Correct me if Im wrong but revolved cut was greyed out, which Im pretty sure it wouldnt work anyways..
There is a missing step between step 14 and step 15. The fillet on the side rectangular surface. What is the radius for the fillet? I used 7mm and it looks similar to that is shown here.

I'm very very new with SW. I learn new commands all the time. Some commands You can only dream in ACAD2008. I'm this far I just hope I don't get stuck to something (fingers crossing). GOOD.
thanks a loy but there is missing step ;)
So far this tutorial had missing steps not many, but it is still amazing with what you can do with this software
The fillet radius at the bottom (or top) that is missing should be 10mm so it lines up with the extruded bits.
