Thanks to the fantastic members of the GrabCAD community who participated in the GE Quick Connect Challenge! We were very impressed with the diversity of submissions and engagement throughout the challenge—we appreciate your time and efforts to help us solve for new approaches to one of our longstanding design challenges.
Submissions were evaluated based on suitability for mass production, simplicity of design, estimated reliability of the seal, ability to connect quickly and the potential to remove the connection. The GE judges were quite pleased with the level of creativity and ability to provide unique responses within the constraints provided in the entry criteria.

The GE Quick Connector Wedge was a judges’ favorite and our all-around winner. The GE judges thought this was a great concept for a single header.
The SG GE Quick Connect is interesting not only for its unique use of a piano locking mechanism but because this design rethought assembly—function, quick and simple.
Another innovative design! Conrad’s Concept 04 provided a smart utilization of the o ring—particularly as the o ring on the outside is used to seal the perimeter.
The GE Quick Connector with Cams is a very novel concept due to the inclusion of metal cams… and a design that would be interesting to explore!
