Need to create a professional looking video render for a design presentation. This tutorial will cover the basics of rendering your model in Solidworks PhotoView 360. Beyond just creating nice images, this tutorial will show you how to use a motion study combined with PhotoView's rendering engine to make an animated walk-around of your model.

Did all of your SolidWorks Command Manager tabs disappear? Is your SolidWorks user interface broken? This video shows how to access tabs that may not be visible, resetting the user interface, restoring user-saved settings, and even resetting the Solidworks Command Manager by editing the windows registry. These are class-proven techniques that I have used to solve student problems over several years of teaching.

Start a SolidWorks assembly the right way by avoiding this common pitfall. Every semester when I teach SolidWorks to students they always make this mistake when starting an assembly and it always causes problems in the future. Snap your first part to the assembly origin so that it is properly oriented before you start modeling!

Learn how to reorient a complex assembly to a new coordinate system when the model was misaligned from the start. For basic assemblies it may be easier to start over; however, when the assembly is larger and more unwieldy, you may want to try and salvage it. This video will show you some tricks how to do just that. This is a real example from my class of a clock assembly that a student was struggling with. They needed the full assembly in a certain orientation to make an in-context part, but when they tried to reorient the assembly, they got a ton of errors. This tutorial will show you some ways to organize your assembly so that you can reorient the assembly while maintaining most of its functionality. You’ll learn how to create a reference point, a reference coordinate system, switch between a float and fixed assembly, create sub-assemblies from already assembled parts, and much more. Take a look!
