adding mass without material
assume you had buy an object like a DC motor and you only modeled it in solidworks without details but you have data sheet and net weigh of that motor. so without choosing a specific material you want to add the mass of that object to your design. what is the solution?

first design an object.
and if you don't want to add a specific material to it and still want to have mass then just go to the mass properties option in evaluate tab go-to option select custom setting and then change the density of and you can have desired mass.

Click Mass Properties. Then there is a button in there to override the mass properties.
Make it what you want.
