Copyright

Dear Community,

I'm very new and have a question regarding copyrights.
Would it be appropriate to download a model and print it with a 3d printer as a part of a project presentation in the university?

Best regards,
Georgy Avalov

There are no copy rights on parts uploaded here. They are free shared. It would be good if you gave footnote credit to the designer of the model in your presentation. A like and comment to that effect on their model would also be a nice kudo.

Check at the bottom of the page for the website terms of use. There are some guidelines in there : https://grabcad.com/terms

It is not correct that there are no copyrights on this site.
Without the express authorization of the author, no model can be reproduced.
The models uploaded to Grabcad can be downloaded for free, but this does not imply that (1) they can be used commercially, or (2) they are included as part of another model for commercial purposes, or (3) they are reproduced in 3D printing for their marketing, or (4) produce commercial renderings from uploaded CAD 3D models.

Depends on the law in your country. Here in the US your case would be covered under the “fair use” educational doctrine. You would also want to fully cite the authorship of the model for good academic ethics. When in doubt, ask the professor.

i think you should ask the designer if you are not sure.
