Create a 3D Model of a shift Drum Part

By Ampcontrol Mackay on 16 May 05:42 1 answer 1556 views 0 comments

I'd like some help to model a shift drum for a project I'm doing at home.

See attached image.

Essentially, its a cylinder with grooves cut into it, around its circumference. These grooves act as a cam to move selector forks back and forth as the drum rotates.

I've attempted to use the emboss feature, but the result isn't the best. I have a feeling the solution is right in front of me, so while I'm waiting I'll keep trying.
